Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Mix the dry ingredients: combine all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
Cut in the butter: add cold, cubed butter to the dry mixture and work it in until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Combine wet ingredients: pour in milk, lemon zest, and lemon juice, and stir gently until just combined.
Knead the dough lightly on a floured surface until it holds together.
Shape into wedges: form the dough into a 1-inch thick circle and cut into wedges.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown on top.
