Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground breakfast sausage (pork, turkey, or chicken)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cans crescent roll dough or puff pastry sheets
  • 1 egg (for brushing)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • To taste garlic powder, parsley, or chives (optional)

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook and crumble sausage until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat and let it cool slightly.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cooked sausage with softened cream cheese. Mix until creamy and combined. Optionally stir in cheddar, garlic powder, or herbs.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles or rectangles. Add filling to each and roll up snugly.
  • Place rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Beat the egg and brush over the tops of each roll.
  • Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding garlic powder, herbs, or shredded cheddar to the filling. You can also use puff pastry sheets for a flakier texture. Leftovers store well for up to 3 days in the fridge and reheat best in the oven or air fryer.
