Instructions
Preparation
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter and semisweet chocolate chips. Microwave them in 30-second intervals, stirring until melted and smooth.
In a separate bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, brown sugar, white sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Make sure everything is evenly distributed.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the melted butter and chocolate mixture. Stir it all together until it's smooth.
Gradually stir in the dry ingredients until everything is just combined. Do not overmix.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
Baking
Bake for 30–35 minutes. To check if they are done, insert a toothpick; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
Let the brownies cool in the pan for 5 minutes. Then, carefully lift them out using the parchment paper and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
Finishing Touches
Once cool, cut the brownies into 16 squares.
Melt the white chocolate chips or candy melts. Drizzle the melted chocolate over each brownie to create the look of mummy bandages.
While the chocolate is still warm, press two candy eyes into each brownie.
Allow the brownies to set for about 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to four days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Can freeze for up to three months.
