Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing in the vanilla extract afterward.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips and chilled salted caramel sauce.
Encapsulate caramel in the dough, form into balls, and place on baking sheets.
Sprinkle lightly with sea salt and bake for about 10-12 minutes.
Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
