Instructions
How to Make Caramel Apple Slices
In a medium pot, mix granulated sugar, water, and kosher salt over high heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture turns a light caramel color, about 5-6 minutes.
Carefully remove the pot from heat and slowly add the heavy cream. Stir until the mixture becomes smooth and reaches a low boil.
Stir in the cold unsalted butter until fully blended. Transfer to a measuring cup and let it cool slightly.
While the caramel cools, wash and slice your apples. Toss the slices in lemon juice and gently pat them dry.
Insert wooden sticks into apple slices, if desired. Dip each slice into your cooled caramel, letting the excess drip off. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Sprinkle chopped nuts over the caramel-coated apple slices and drizzle with melted chocolate.
Serve immediately or refrigerate uncovered until ready to enjoy.
Notes
For an extra touch, garnish with a sprinkle of sea salt.
