Ingredients

For the Filling

  • 1 tbsp Taco Seasoning Use homemade or sugar-free versions if desired
  • 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream Avoid lighter alternatives
  • 4 Eggs Bind the ingredients together
  • 1 cup Chunky Salsa Use your favorite brand
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese Grate your own for best flavor
  • 1 tsp Garlic Salt Can swap with regular salt and garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Black Pepper

For the Topping

  • 1/4 cup Additional Shredded Cheese Use fresh-grated for best results

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9" pie pan.
  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat for about 7-8 minutes.
  • Mix in the taco seasoning without adding any water, ensuring all the flavors meld beautifully.
  • Whisk together the heavy cream and eggs in a bowl, then stir in the chunky salsa, 1 cup of shredded cheese, garlic salt, and pepper.
  • Pour the cream and egg mixture over the seasoned beef in the pie pan, and top with an additional ¼ cup of cheese.
  • Bake uncovered for 35-40 minutes or until the pie is set and golden brown.
  • Cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Optional: Garnish with fresh cilantro or serve with sour cream, fresh avocado, or more salsa.
