Instructions
Preparation
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter until liquid.
Stir in the brown sugar and mix until combined and bubbly, about 2-3 minutes.
Remove from heat and mix in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
In a large bowl, pour in your Chex cereal.
Drizzle the buttery mixture over the cereal and fold gently to coat.
Spread the coated cereal onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake for about 15 minutes, stirring halfway through.
Allow the mix to cool completely on the baking sheet.
Optional: Sprinkle chocolate chips over the mix immediately after baking.
