Ingredients

Ice Layer

  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • a few drops food coloring (optional) Enhances visual appeal.

Hot Layer

  • 1 cup hot water Boil until steaming.
  • 1 tablespoon instant tea or lemonade powder Choose your favorite flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or sweetener of choice Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or chili powder Add spice according to preference.

Garnish (Optional)

  • 1 slice of lemon For a refreshing touch.
  • 1 sprig of mint For garnish.

Instructions

Prepare the Ice Layer

  • Start by placing ice cubes in one of the jars to create the cold layer.
  • If you wish, add a few drops of food coloring to the ice for an enhanced visual effect.

Prepare the Hot Layer

  • Boil a cup of water until steaming (not boiling).
  • In a separate bowl, combine the hot water, instant tea or lemonade powder, sugar, and cinnamon or chili powder. Stir until fully dissolved.

Assemble the Reaction

  • Carefully pour the hot mixture over the ice layer in the jar.
  • Watch the contrasting temperatures; observe steam rising and colors mixing.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Optionally garnish with a slice of lemon or a sprig of mint.
  • Encourage guests to mix the layers before enjoying their first sip.

Notes

Customize flavors by swapping instant tea or lemonade for your favorite drink mix. Add more chili powder for extra heat. Use various food coloring combinations for festive themes. For a sugar-free version, use sugar substitutes or omit sweeteners entirely.
