How to Make Festive Christmas Bread
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x5-inch loaf pan by greasing it lightly with butter or lining it with parchment paper.
Whisk together in a medium bowl the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
Mix melted unsalted butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl until smooth and creamy. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract and buttermilk.
Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, gently folding them together until just mixed.
Fold in the red and green sprinkles gently, taking care not to overmix.
Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula. If desired, sprinkle coarse sugar or additional sprinkles on top.
Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs. Cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For an optional touch, serve with a drizzle of vanilla glaze for added sweetness. Allow the bread to cool completely for cleaner slices and optimal flavor enhancement.
