Instructions
How to Make Banana Chocolate Chip Scones
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon.
Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse sand.
In a separate bowl, mix the heavy cream with the ripe mashed bananas until smooth.
Make a well in the dry mixture and pour in the banana-cream mix, gently stirring until just combined.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and shape it into a disk about 1.5 to 2 inches thick. Cut the disk into 6 wedges.
Place the wedges on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with heavy cream and sprinkle turbinado sugar on top.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and firm to the touch.
Whisk together melted butter, powdered sugar, cinnamon, and a splash of milk to create icing, then drizzle over cooled scones.
Notes
Optional: Serve with a dollop of whipped cream for extra indulgence. Handle dough gently to avoid dense scones. Use overripe bananas for best flavor.
