Instructions
Making Pretzels
In a large bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar together. Let it sit for 5 minutes to become frothy.
Stir in melted butter and salt into the yeast mixture. Gradually add all-purpose flour until a soft dough forms.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Divide the dough into 12 pieces, roll each into a rope, and twist into pretzel shape.
Boil water and add baking soda. Drop each pretzel into boiling solution for 30 seconds.
Brush each pretzel with beaten egg and sprinkle with holiday sprinkles.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
