Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate large bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
Beat in eggs and vanilla until fully combined.
Gradually stir in the dry ingredients until just mixed.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
Spread the thick dough evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set.
Cool completely before slicing into bars. Sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
Notes
Chill the bars before cutting for cleaner slices. Add chopped walnuts or pecans for crunch. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
