Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups diced apples
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp milk for glaze

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl.
  • Mix milk, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter in a separate bowl.
  • Fold wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined, then fold in apples.
  • Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the baking sheet and shape lightly.
  • Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  • Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make glaze.
  • Drizzle glaze over slightly cooled fritters and allow to set.

Notes

Best served warm. Use firm apples for the best texture.
