  • 8 ounces cremini or baby bella mushrooms, sliced
  • 1.5 lbs cube steak
  • 1 ounce onion soup mix
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup water
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp seasoned salt
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp water for slurry

Instructions

  • Layer sliced onions and mushrooms in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Place cube steak on top of the vegetables, layering if needed.

  • Pour mixture over steak. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 6 hours.

Notes

Do not add extra salt beyond the recipe. Cook longer for more tender steak. Add cornstarch slurry in the last hour for thick gravy.
