Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter and beat until smooth.
  • Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  • Mix softened butter, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon to make the swirl mixture.
  • Drop spoonfuls of cinnamon mixture across the cake batter.
  • Use a knife to swirl the mixture through the batter.
  • Bake for 35–40 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
  • Cool the cake for 15–20 minutes.
  • Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
  • Pour glaze over the warm cake and spread evenly.
  • Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Serve warm with coffee for the ultimate breakfast or dessert treat.
