fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

Instructions
Combine sugar, cornstarch, and water in a saucepan.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened and clear.
Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice and vanilla extract.
Arrange sliced strawberries evenly in the baked pie crust.
Pour the slightly cooled glaze evenly over the strawberries.
Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours until the filling sets.
Slice and serve chilled.
Notes
Serve chilled with whipped cream for the best flavor and presentation.
