Ingredients

cream of mushroom soup

shredded cheddar cheese

milk
salt and pepper to taste

garlic powder (optional)

butter or olive oil
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Cook ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet until browned. Drain excess fat.
Boil diced potatoes in salted water for 8–10 minutes until just tender, then drain.
In a bowl combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Layer potatoes in the baking dish followed by the beef mixture.
Pour the soup mixture over the layers and sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly on top.
Dot with butter if desired and bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
You can substitute cream of chicken soup or add vegetables like corn or peas for extra flavor.
