Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 20 ounces crushed pineapple in juice, undrained
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed

Instructions

  • Place chicken breasts in a single layer in the bottom of a slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the chicken.
  • Pour the crushed pineapple and its juice over the chicken.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2½–3 hours until chicken is tender.
  • Shred or slice the chicken and stir it into the pineapple sauce before serving.

Notes

For a less sweet version add a splash of soy sauce or lemon juice after cooking.
