Ingredients

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks about 1 inch thick
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 0.5 lemon juiced
  • 2 lbs Yukon gold or russet potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 0.5 cup warm heavy cream or milk
  • 1 tsp salt to taste

Instructions

  • Boil peeled potatoes in salted water for 15–20 minutes until fork tender.
  • Drain and mash with butter and warm cream until smooth and fluffy. Season with salt.
  • Season steaks with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear steaks 3–4 minutes per side.
  • Remove steaks and let rest for 5 minutes.
  • In the same skillet melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  • Add shrimp and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  • Finish shrimp with lemon juice and parsley.
  • Serve sliced steak and shrimp over mashed potatoes and drizzle with garlic butter sauce.

Notes

Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing to keep it juicy.
