Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons oats for topping

Instructions

  • Combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, salt, and instant yeast in a mixing bowl.
  • Add water, milk, honey, and olive oil to the dry ingredients.
  • Mix and knead the dough until smooth and soft.
  • Cover the dough and allow it to rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  • Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  • Brush the top lightly with milk or water and sprinkle oats over the loaf.
  • Let the loaf rise again for 30 to 40 minutes.
  • Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a tablespoon of oats into the dough before kneading.
