Equipment

  • 4–6 quart slow cooker
  • measuring cup
  • Spatula or serving spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 2 cans (12–16 oz each) chocolate syrup
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions

  • Lightly grease the inside of a 4–6 quart slow cooker with non-stick spray or butter.
  • Sprinkle the dry chocolate cake mix evenly into the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Pour both cans of chocolate syrup evenly over the dry cake mix without stirring.
  • Slowly pour the water over the top so it seeps into the layers.
  • Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 to 2½ hours until the top is set and a hot fudge sauce forms underneath.
  • Let the cake stand for 10–15 minutes before serving to allow the sauce to thicken slightly.

Notes

Do not stir the layers. Let the cake rest before serving to allow the sauce to thicken. For extra gooey texture, use 1 cup water instead of 1½ cups.
