Ingredients

  • 6-8 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 10.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper

Instructions

  • Brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  • Place diced potatoes evenly in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Spread the cooked meat and onion mixture over the potatoes.
  • Mix cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth. Pour evenly over the layered ingredients.
  • Season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours until potatoes are tender.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top 15-20 minutes before serving. Cover and allow cheese to melt.

Notes

For extra creaminess, stir in sour cream before serving. You can substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
