Instructions
Mix all secret sauce ingredients in a small bowl until smooth. Chill until ready to serve.
Melt 1–2 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook slowly until golden brown, about 10–15 minutes.
Form beef into 4–6 patties. Season with salt and pepper and cook in a skillet or griddle until desired doneness.
Butter one side of each bread slice. Layer Swiss cheese, patty, caramelized onions, and another Swiss slice. Top with second slice, buttered side up.
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook each sandwich 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
Slice in half and serve hot with secret sauce on the side or spread inside.
Notes
Cook onions slowly to maximize sweetness. Use high-quality Swiss cheese for the best melt. Serve immediately for optimal taste.
