French bread loaf, sliced in half lengthwise
1
lb
thinly sliced ribeye steak (or shaved beef)

large
onion, thinly sliced
1
green bell pepper, thinly sliced

mushrooms, sliced (optional)

butter or oil
1
tsp
garlic powder
salt and black pepper, to taste

slices
provolone cheese
shredded mozzarella for extra melt (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place bread halves on a baking sheet and toast for 5 minutes.
Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté onions, peppers, and mushrooms until soft.
Add steak to the skillet, season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until steak is just done.
Lay provolone slices on toasted bread. Spoon steak and vegetable mixture evenly on top. Add extra cheese if desired.
Bake for 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Slice into strips and serve hot.
Notes
Optional: Drizzle Cheez Whiz for classic Philly style or add jalapeños for spice.
