Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage, cut into wedges
  • 1/2 cup butter, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste (optional)

Instructions

  • Remove outer leaves from cabbage and cut into 8 wedges, keeping the core intact.
  • Arrange cabbage wedges in the slow cooker in a single layer or slightly overlapping.
  • Scatter butter pieces evenly over the cabbage wedges.
  • Whisk apple cider vinegar and brown sugar together until partially dissolved.
  • Pour vinegar mixture evenly over cabbage wedges.
  • Cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours until cabbage is tender and lightly caramelized.
  • Transfer to serving platter and spoon cooking juices over top. Season with salt and pepper if desired.

Notes

Keep the core intact so wedges hold their shape. For extra flavor, add smoked paprika or crumbled bacon before serving.
