Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp dark rum (optional)
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  • Bake puff pastry sheets at 400°F until golden.
  • Warm milk gently without boiling.
  • Whisk sugar, flour, and egg yolks until smooth.
  • Slowly combine milk with egg mixture, then cook until thick.
  • Stir in vanilla and rum, then cool completely.
  • Whip cream and fold into cooled custard.
  • Layer pastry and custard, chill, and dust with sugar.
