Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 0.75 cup lukewarm water
  • 6 medium apples
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 0.5 lemon lemon juice
  • 0.5 cup raisins
  • 0.25 cup chopped walnuts
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup melted butter
  • to taste powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Mix flour and salt. Add oil and water, knead until smooth, rest 30 minutes.
  • Slice apples and toss with sugar, spices, lemon juice, raisins, and walnuts.
  • Toast breadcrumbs in butter until golden.
  • Roll and stretch dough until very thin.
  • Brush dough with butter, sprinkle breadcrumbs, add apple filling.
  • Roll into a log and place seam-side down on baking sheet.
  • Bake at 375°F for 35–45 minutes, brushing with butter halfway.
  • Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
