Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth

Instructions

  • Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, seasonings, salt, and pepper. Shape into four oval patties.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties 4–5 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • Add butter to the same skillet. Cook mushrooms and onion until tender, then add garlic and cook briefly.
  • Sprinkle flour over vegetables and stir. Gradually whisk in beef broth and simmer until thickened.
  • Return patties to the skillet and simmer in gravy for 2–3 minutes. Add cream if desired and serve hot.

Notes

For extra richness, add a splash of cream at the end. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
