Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1.5 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 0.25 cup oil or melted butter

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and shredded cheese.
  • Add milk, egg, and oil or melted butter. Stir gently until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread tender. Serve warm for best flavor.
