Ingredients

shredded cheddar cheese, divided
Instructions
In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 to 7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Divide dough into 12 pieces. Flatten each piece, add cheese, seal, and place seam-side down in a greased pan.
Cover and let rolls rise for 30 minutes until puffy.
Brush with butter, sprinkle remaining cheese on top, and bake at 375°F for 20–25 minutes until golden.
Notes
Use freshly shredded cheese for best melting and flavor. Serve warm for the best texture.
