Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg

  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 to 7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Divide dough into 12 pieces. Flatten each piece, add cheese, seal, and place seam-side down in a greased pan.
  • Cover and let rolls rise for 30 minutes until puffy.
  • Brush with butter, sprinkle remaining cheese on top, and bake at 375°F for 20–25 minutes until golden.

Notes

Use freshly shredded cheese for best melting and flavor. Serve warm for the best texture.
