Ingredients

  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 oz marinara or pasta sauce
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • Brown ground beef with onion in a skillet. Drain fat, add garlic, and cook briefly.
  • Stir in pasta sauce and simmer for 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Mix sour cream and cream cheese until smooth.
  • Layer half the noodles, half the cream mixture, and half the meat sauce in the dish.
  • Repeat layers and top with shredded cheese.
  • Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden.
  • Rest 5 minutes before serving and garnish if desired.

Notes

Let the casserole rest before serving for cleaner slices. Freezes well before baking.
