Instructions
Place shredded cabbage and grated carrots into a large bowl and toss gently.
In a separate bowl, whisk sugar, mayonnaise, buttermilk, vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss until evenly coated.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
Chilling improves flavor. Adjust sweetness or tanginess to taste after resting.
