Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1.5 cups chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9×13 pan with foil.
  • Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer covering the pan.
  • Melt butter and brown sugar together, then boil for 2–3 minutes until bubbly.
  • Pour toffee evenly over crackers and spread gently.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes until caramelized.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips on top, let melt, then spread if using.
  • Cool completely, then cut or break into bars.

Notes

Cool completely before cutting for the cleanest pieces.
