potatoes, peeled and diced

whole milk

sharp cheddar cheese, grated

butter
Instructions
Place diced potatoes in a pot, cover with water, and boil until very soft. Drain.
Return potatoes to the pot. Add milk and butter. Heat on low until butter melts.
Mash some or all of the potatoes to thicken the soup.
Slowly stir in grated cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season if desired.
Notes
Mash more potatoes for a thicker soup or leave chunks for texture.
