Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 6 slices rye bread
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 0.25 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp crumbled bacon
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp sweet relish

Instructions

  • Divide ground beef into three patties and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Cook patties in a skillet over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Set aside.
  • Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, bacon, sugar, and relish until smooth.
  • Butter one side of each bread slice. On the unbuttered side, layer cheese, beef patty, sauce, and more cheese. Top with bread.
  • Grill sandwiches butter-side down over medium heat until golden and crispy, flipping once.
  • Slice in half and serve hot.

Notes

Cook over medium heat for best results and serve immediately while hot.
