Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 6-8 whole fresh strawberries, chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease 6–8 muffin cups or ramekins.
  • Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  • In another bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Gradually stir wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Fill each cup halfway with batter. Add chopped strawberries to the center and cover with more batter.
  • Bake for 18–22 minutes until cakes are set but centers remain gooey.
  • Cool slightly, remove from cups, and serve warm. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Serve warm for the best lava effect. Use ripe strawberries for maximum flavor.
