uncooked long-grain white rice

beef broth

garlic, minced

dried thyme or Italian seasoning

smoked paprika (optional)
salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a large baking dish.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook onion until soft.
Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart.
Stir in garlic, seasonings, salt, and pepper and cook briefly.
Combine beef mixture with cabbage, rice, tomatoes, and broth.
Transfer to baking dish, cover tightly with foil, and bake 45–50 minutes.
Remove foil for last 10 minutes if desired. Rest before serving.
Notes
Let the casserole rest before serving to allow the rice to set and flavors to deepen.
