Ingredients

  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  • Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  • Add milk and egg and stir until smooth.
  • Fold in chopped onions until evenly coated.
  • Heat oil to 350°F in a skillet.
  • Drop spoonfuls of batter into oil and flatten slightly.
  • Fry 2–3 minutes per side until golden.
  • Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
