Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • confectioners’ sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in vanilla extract and salt until combined.
  • Add flour and chopped walnuts, stirring just until combined.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  • Cool completely and dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Dust with powdered sugar after cooling for a traditional finish.
