garlic, peeled and smashed

grated Parmesan cheese

fresh parsley or basil (optional)
red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
Boil pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
Melt butter with olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook gently until fragrant and lightly golden.
Lower heat and pour in heavy cream. Warm gently for 2–3 minutes, stirring often.
Stir in Parmesan cheese until smooth. Season with salt and black pepper.
Add pasta to the sauce and toss well. Loosen with reserved pasta water if needed.
Serve hot and garnish with herbs or red pepper flakes if desired.
Notes
Use fresh garlic and gently cook it to avoid bitterness. Adjust sauce thickness with reserved pasta water.
