Ingredients

  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 0.5 cup corn syrup
  • 0.5 cup butter, melted (for filling)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt (for batter)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup butter, melted (for batter)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and melted butter. Pour batter into baking dish.
  • Mix brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla, and salt. Stir in pecans.
  • Pour pecan mixture evenly over the batter without stirring.
  • Bake 40–50 minutes until golden and set. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Do not stir the layers before baking. Serve warm for best texture.
