Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan with nonstick spray.
Stir together melted butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla in a medium bowl.
Add flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Stir until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips and spread batter into prepared pan.
Bake for 20–25 minutes until the center is set. Cool before slicing.
Notes
Bars slice best after cooling. Add nuts or toffee for variation.
