Ingredients

  • 0.75 cup butter, melted
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or nuts (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven and grease a baking pan.
  • Mix melted butter with brown sugar and white sugar until smooth.
  • Add eggs and vanilla extract, stirring until combined.
  • Stir in flour and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
  • Spread batter evenly in the pan and bake until edges are golden and the top is set.
  • Cool slightly before cutting into bars and serving.

Notes

Do not overbake. The center should stay soft for the best gooey texture.
