Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb ground beef or shaved steak
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, diced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Brown the beef in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add onion, peppers, mushrooms, and garlic. Cook until tender.
  • Season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Stir in cream cheese until melted, then remove from heat.
  • Whisk mayonnaise and eggs together and mix into beef mixture.
  • Transfer to a greased baking dish and top with cheeses.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

Use shaved steak for a more authentic texture. Let the casserole rest before serving for cleaner slices.
