Equipment

  • nonstick skillet or griddle

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bread
  • 4 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 tsp garlic powder or minced garlic
  • 4 slices cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or mix)
  • optional herbs such as parsley or oregano

Instructions

  • Mix butter with garlic and optional herbs.
  • Spread garlic butter on one side of each bread slice.
  • Place bread butter-side down in a skillet and add cheese on top.
  • Top with second slice, butter-side up, and cook until golden.
  • Flip once and cook until cheese is melted and bread is golden. Serve hot.

Notes

Cook over medium heat to prevent garlic from burning and allow cheese to melt.
