Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 12 oz bow tie pasta
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14–16 oz)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Cook bow tie pasta in salted water until al dente, then drain.
  • Brown the Italian sausage in a large skillet until fully cooked, then set aside.
  • Sauté onion and garlic in the same skillet until softened.
  • Add tomatoes, marinara, seasoning, and cream if using, then simmer.
  • Return sausage and pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly.

Notes

Use spicy or sweet sausage depending on your preferred heat level.
