Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup buttermilk or milk
  • 2 cups peeled and finely chopped apples
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk or lemon juice

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a baking pan.
  • Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then add eggs and vanilla.
  • Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk, then fold in apples.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
