Ingredients

  • 2 slices bread (Italian or sourdough)
  • 2-3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-2 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2-3 slices cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • optional sliced tomatoes or cooked bacon

Instructions

  • Mix softened butter with garlic and parsley until smooth.
  • Spread garlic butter on one side of each bread slice.
  • Layer cheese on the unbuttered side, add optional fillings, and close the sandwich.
  • Cook in a skillet over medium heat until golden, flipping once, until cheese melts.

Notes

Cook on medium to low heat for even browning and full cheese melt.
