Ingredients

  • 1 medium head green cabbage, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt (for dumplings)
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  • Melt butter in a large pot and sauté onion until soft and translucent.
  • Add chopped cabbage, season lightly, and cook until tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Whisk flour and salt, then combine with eggs and milk to form a thick batter.
  • Drop small portions of batter into gently boiling salted water and cook until they float.
  • Remove dumplings and gently fold them into the cooked cabbage.
  • Garnish with parsley if desired and serve warm.

Cook dumplings gently and fold them carefully into the cabbage to keep them fluffy.
