Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  • Brown sausage and beef in a skillet. Drain excess fat.
  • Add onion and garlic, cook until softened.
  • Stir in flour, then gradually add milk until thick gravy forms.
  • Place one puff pastry sheet in dish, add filling, top with second sheet.
  • Brush with egg wash and bake at 400°F for 20–25 minutes until golden.

Notes

Let the pie rest before slicing so the gravy sets.
